Reports from Raggie Charters from within the Addo Elephant National Park marine protected area.

It seems that Raggie Charters Marine & Eco Tours have been making excellent use of this past year: building up networks, attending webinars, getting their website updated and, most exciting, finishing up their new shark-cage-diving catamaran - which is awaiting a launch celebration this year.

This summer, it has been fitting that the 'Bottlenose Dolphin Capital of the World' did not disappoint and Raggie Charters have had chartered cruises in Algoa Bay almost every day, with the dolphins always making an appearing! Their final cruise of 2020, to St Croix Island, was the perfect end to a fantastic year for marine sightings: arriving at the island, the crew were disappointed to find that the dolphins were not in their usual haunt at 'Lover's Lane'. However, when rounding to the north side of the island into 'Lloyd's Bay' - there they were, all 300 of them! And, as you can see from the photos, they were feeling playful and frisky, much to guests' delight!

Raggie Charters have their humpback whale migration route and festivals planned for 2021, so watch this space. Find out more: www.raggiecharters.co.za
