About Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary

Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary was the first Wolf Sanctuary in South Africa, and is registered with Nature Conservation. Bring the family to experience our wolves when visiting the beautiful Tsitsikamma. A day of real enjoyment in the outdoors with lots of exciting moments with the wolves. Our picnic area is a great spot to unwind and spend time in nature. Call ahead to find out when the wolves are fed to witness firsthand how these animals would feed in the wild. Unforgettable night tours also available by pre-arrangement.

The Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary, supports the survival of the wolf around the world by:

  • Putting plans in place to preserve a healthy genetic strain outside its natural domain.
  • Teaching about its life and its association with other species.
  • Its dynamic relationship to humans.
  • Provision of a sanctuary and ultimately a “natural habitat” for captive wolves.
  • Public education on the value of ALL wildlife.
  • The importance of not removing animals from their natural domain.
  • The importance of ending hybridising (cross-breeding).

The Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary is self-funded private project.   Our outreach and educational programmes as well as the sanctuary are supported by donations, and the sale of merchandise and entry tickets.

Open 7 days a week.
