About Schotia Safaris Game Reserve

Schotia Safaris, situated a mere 30mins from Port Elizabeth is the oldest private, game viewing reserve in the Eastern Cape, bordering on the eastern side of the Addo Elephant National Park.

Schotia being a malaria free game reserve, was the very first Reserve in the Cape Province to have Free Roaming Lions. And 30 years later we are still very well known for our memorable lion sightings. As well as up close sightings of 30 different species of other animals we have at Schotianamely; giraffe, elephant, buffalo, rhino, hippo, crocodiles, wildebeests, and much more.

Tours run daily, and guests have the choice of our;

- Schotia afternoon Tooth and Claw safari

Join us for an unforgettable four hour, guided game drive in an open Land Rover with a short refreshments and toilet break at the halfway point. After an amazing experience where you will view more animals than you thought possible, enjoy a delicious dinner which is prepared over an open fire, in our open-aired bush lapa. Thereafter embark on a short, spotlit nightdrive providing the possibility of more nocturnal animals to complete your experience as we return to our reception area.

- Schotia Full Day Tour, (Addo & Schotia)

A full day of game viewing with a morning game drive in the Addo Elephant National Park, followed by lunch before you enjoy the afternoon, Tooth and Claw safari, on Schotia.

Schotia offers you the chance to see animals that Addo does not have such as; giraffe, hippo, crocodile, wildebeests, waterbuck, reedbuck, etc.

- Sleepover options are available and highly recommended for a true African safari experience. We have three options of accommodation available on Schotia; our luxury lodges, off-grid, lush tented camps, and our more affordable yet very comfortable room options. Our sleepover guests start with the afternoon, tooth and claw safari, followed by an early morning game drive and scrumptious breakfast in our open aired lapa area.

All of our tours are conducted by qualified and enthusiastic guides with years of experience in the field.
